Zelda Fitzgerald and Daisy
Through the novel we see that though Daisy may love Gatsby, in the end she wants the rich easy lifestyle that Tom can provide. When Scott Fitzgerald wrote the Great Gatsby he based parts of the character Daisy on his wife, Zelda Fitzgerald. Zelda was always jealous of Scott's success and wanted to be rich successful herself. Many similarities can be seen between Zelda and Daisy in how they both had bad marriages and were greedy for money and success.
